Vegas at last!  I managed to figure out the local bus system and get myself downtown ($5 for a day pass!!!) to catch the Big Bus tours - $38 gets you all the tours you want on the open-topped, hop on hop off busses. Pretty sweet!  I took half of the downtown tour - boring, boring, boring - just a city like any other - and then hopped on the strip tour which was, of course, where the real action was.  Saw pretty much every night club and casino and gift shop, etc. on the strip. I did hop off at Bally's and walk around a bit - interesting experience - instead of walking across the road, you take an escalator up to a walkway over the street.  Walked around for about half an hour and then hopped back on to finish the strip tour.  Tour guides were all hilarious - got the same guy on the first and last bus - arranged to marry him on Tuesday at the drive-through chapel - just a heads-up, kids - new stepfather for you . . .  On the way back to the bus station, I went into the Golden Nugget, just so I could say I'd been in a casino.  I've never been inside a casino, and got thoroughly confused by the machines - lost $3, won $6.50, lost it, and came out with $.96 - not sure how or why . . . No, Las Vegas is really not my kind of place - but at leasts I can say I've been there . . .

CN Tower wannabee

There were people jumping off this structure - in harnesses, at a controlled velocity - still nuts - I tried to catch one guy jumping - he's pretty much at the bottom, though

Shopping

Circus Circus

The Riviera club and casino

The Trump Tower with its golden windows
