April Fool's Day! What a blast - we went to the Golden Corral for lunch, and sat in the little dining room in the back, allowing us to carry on as raucously as we pleased, without disturbing other patrons! We each texted our kids, telling them that there was a horrendous hurricane heading towards Galveston, and that we were trying to get off the island - part of a long lineup of vehicles doing the same. Connie's kids weren't fooled for a second - Connie does something like this every year (in fact, this was probably her idea). Most kids were at least tentative and suspicious in their replies. My kids, however, fell for it, hook, line, and sinker! I told everybody that they would - after all, they're in Canada - what do they know about Texas and hurricanes? Sure enough, Julia sent me a text back telling me to take care and travel safely; Bobby texted an OMG, be careful; and Gregory never replied! I finally sent an email to Anna (two days later) asking if he had received my text. Turns out, he's using his business cell and rarely checks his own number . . . Oh well, two out of three ain't bad! That evening, I went to choir practice (my last practice for the season) and Tay gave me an awesome tirimisu which she had made for me. Last year, she told me that I had missed the one she brought for the choir at Easter, and would make me one this year! It was delicious and lasted for a number of days! I'm sorry to be missing the Gospel Mass the Moody Choir is singing in May - there's quite a hefty second soprano part!
