March 19th, 2016

Eighteen of us went to the Railean Distillery in San Leon for a tour and tasting.  They brew rum, mainly, so I was really interested! Shouldn't have had that cocktail before the tour, though - because after tasting eleven different varieties of rum, I was totally fried! Thank God that Dale was driving - and he drank nothing at all, being aware of his position as DD for the day.
Afterwards, we all went to Bubba's for dinner - food was okay, nothing special, really - but, as usual, the company more than made up for the quality of the meal.
Came home to meet another new neighbour - lovely couple with the coolest little pop-up trailer!

Finally got my foot tattoo added to - been wanting to do this for almost two years! Really happy with the artist - Greg Votaw, at Galveston Tattoo Company, right on Seawall. Faith recommended him - she got her foot tattoo rejuvenated last week (covered a part she didn't like and added a bit) and Dale says he got both his arm tattoos done there.  Good recommendations!

Today's neighbourhood get together was at Elaine's rig - love these potluck-type meals and laughs!

. . . and the morning after the floods! Driving down Seawall Blvd. en route to Jamaica Beach RV Park (which, btw, was almost untouched by the storm - no flooding at all).

More Webster appointments today - and I spent the night at Luanne's - so drove to choir practice from her house.  Incredible - streets were flooded all the way to Moody Methodist Church - and even worse on the way back. Even Broadway had two flooded lanes, for a fairly long stretch! Luanne and I watched the weather report on her tv and listened to a journalist warning people not to drive on flooded streets. Oh well, too late now!

I took all these shots from the driver's seat, while driving!

A bunch of Jamaica Beach -ers went to the Golden Corral for dinner tonight - always great to eat with a community!  On the way there, I had to park on the Seawall and get some photos of ocean - a big storm coming in, apparently - possibility of flooding in parts of the town of Jamaica Beach tomorrow.
