Left Ottawa behind for a month or so - off to Cheryl's for a few days. Great visit, as always! Went into town one day, talked and talked a lot, drank rum (thanks to Jim). Bought veggies at the Mennonite farm - yum! Left for North Bay with Cheryl's directions: go to Golden Lake for gas, then continue on 60 until turning left to take the 17 right to North Bay; however, I didn't see any 17 sign, so I stayed on 60 and ended up going through Algonquin Park - all windy, twisty roads which doubled my driving time. What was supposed to take three hours ended up taking 6! Oh well - it was great to see Nancy again - and what an incredible house / location she has! Right on the water, dock and boats right there, amazing property! She fed me a late dinner and we played a game with her two adorable granddaughters, then took the boat out into the middle of the late and went swimming off it. The next day, we went swimming again and then drove to Burk's Falls, where Nancy's son John and his wife have a trailer parked in a permanent spot. I parked in a temporary spot across from them for the night and left the next day to start making my way towards Owen Sound!
