A once a year occurrence: the Vaux Swifts are back for their annual visit to the Courtenay Museum brick chimney! Every year, en route from wintering south to returning north, the Swifts roost in this chimney for a week (well, they actually come in shifts for a night or so). Fascinating to watch them all diving into the chimney.
We had a lovely visit with Valetta and Cal, who came to sit outside, safely distanced in Barb's backyard. Soo nice to see and interact with actual people! Sidling around people in the grocery store has been pretty much the extent of social interaction these past few months.
Barb and I did a hike through the woods and into the bird sanctuary, then back down Brent Rd. to Curtis Rd. I was exhausted, but I did it!
Barb and Ken and I went to Anderton Nursery, where they bought flowers to plant in the side gardens, and some seeds for the veggie garden.
