Two new people were on today's Friday walk - great to see new faces and hear new stories!  We walked beside the Puntledge River and through some streets of Courtenay today - beauty everywhere!  We started and ended at Sims Park.

This evening, I went to a Newcomers' bbq at Kye Bay (well, in these covid times, that means bring your own food, drink and lawn chair) - great to meet more new people! Men were allowed at this event, so I got to see some husbands, as well. Beautiful spot -  got there early and explored the beach a bit before everybody arrived - very cool heart-shaped tree trunks.

 My friend Brooke's birthday!  Thinking that this would be a typical warm, possibly sunny August day, Brooke had her birthday party in the Comox Marina Park.  Wouldn't you know, it rained cats and dogs and was windy and cold, to boot!  Oh well, that didn't stop us from having a good time!  Brooke brought cake and everyone else brought lawn chairs and drinks. I crocheted a sunflower for her.  Welcome to the next decade, Brooke!
