Left Gros Morne to start the drive up the Northern Peninsula to L'Anse aux Meadows. We stopped about half way, at Green Island Cove, where we found a lovely spot by the ocean, right next to the community cemetery! Gravel spot with fantastic view of the ocean and the town. A local man drove up to give us his name and phone #, to point out his house to us, and to tell us that if we needed anything - anything - we were to give him a call! Newfie hospitality is everything I've ever heard! The next morning, Rob found a hole in his front tire (thanks to his Tireminder!) and we spent a number of hours in front of the Mini-Mart up the road, working on a solution. Rob & Helen spent another night in Green Island Cove, behind the woman at the Mini-Mart's house, while I drove to L'Anse aux Meadows and parked in the Viking RV Park, where I had reserved two nights for us. I checked out the Viking historical site - talked to the guy at the desk - and later overheard Grace, who is co-owner of the RV park, talking about her brother taking a few tourists out in his fishing boat to see icebergs and whales. I talked to her and she said she would talk to her brother about taking the three of us out the next day. Looking forward to that possibility!
