Rob and Helen came to visit!  They planned to go to Montreal and then Quebec City - and Helen said to Rob "Doesn't Joyce live around there somewhere?" so they phoned me and came to Ottawa!  Thanks to Sue-Jane and Judy, they parked next to me in their driveway and we had a great visit - lasted way longer than they had intended - and then I came with them to Quebec!

July 16th - Sue-Jane's birthday!  Always fun - especially when Will shows up with his gag props and hilarious speeches!  

June 26-28th

St. Thomas!  This time, I actually stayed inside Jim & MaryLee's house, since I had my car rather than my rv.  Went to Trinity Church on Sunday with Jim and we met Joy (Gerrard) Hogg who was in town for a reunion with a regiment her father belonged to years ago. Cool to see the church again and to talk with Joy - we went back to Jim's house for a few hours to chat, then Joy left - heading back to her home in Michigan, I think, on Monday.

Next door neighbours - I think the Gliddons used to live there.

Trip to southwestern Ontario:  first to visit Cheryl and Jim in Cormac.  Always wonderful to see Cheryl and catch up - we've known each other for about 36 years!

On June 23rd, I got to Toronto - stayed  in a Bed and Breakfast that I found online - seemed to be okay - I just needed a place to crash, really, while I visited with Phil and Maria and her baby! What a cutie little Eve is - four months old - I bought a few toys for her and am in the process of crocheting a blanket for her - didn't get it finished in time for this visit!
I spent the first day exploring the green spaces  nearby and going to the beach. Met Phil, Maria, and Eve in a coffee shop - great visit!

RV repairs:  That parking lot scrape, which made my two back compartment doors impossible to open, became a big deal.
 [|Sidebar:  while I was in Kentucky, I had to do a u-turn, and scraped my back two doors on the driver's side on a pole in a parking lot which I thought had a circular drive, but which actually had a circular drive-through!]
While I was parked at Hither Hills, my insurance company sent an adjustor, I got his estimate ($7000 to put on new doors, side panel, and bumper - all to be paid by my  insurance company - plus covering the expense of me staying in a hotel while my rv is in the shop! Since Glendale has been out of business since 2008, getting replacement doors and panelling was a challenge. The adjustor recommended Chesterville, since they can do all the work, as opposed to Ottawa shops which would have to send out for painting, etc. The guy in Chesterville was awesome; I spent a week at the Ottawa Travelodge, making use of their pool and spa; my rv is as good as new - except for the missing decal parts and level indicator.
