Left Denali on Thursday, stopped at Wal Mike's in Trapper Creek - holy moly, what a crazy store!! A bit of everything, jampacked into a funny log house with log outbuildings holding even more crap - oops - I mean, historically significant items . . .
Got to Cabelas in Anchorage just in time to say bye to Rob & Helen and Co. as they moved to the Elks' Lodge, having stayed their maximum two nights at Cabelas. Not to worry - they moved back the next night. Friday was great - we did a trolley tour, narrated by Alice, a very lively woman with tons of experiences to relate. We toured all around the city - saw an interesting site at the edge of town where the impact of the 1964 earthquake was really evident - it was a green space with a ravine going down 30 feet - it was a totally flat space before the quake!
We stopped at one spot on the water to watch some people salmon fishing - fishing is the reason why most people seem to come to the Kenai Peninsula.
