Dickens on the Strand!! Every year I make sure that I'm here in time for this celebration, which takes place on The Strand - a street in downtown Galveston which is part of the historical district.  There's a parade, and lots of people in period costumes. In fact, if you wear a costume, your entrance fee is greatly reduced, if not free!
