Left Cheryl's house with instructions to fill up with gas at Golden Lake, then continue on to hook up with highway 17 and take it all the way to North Bay; however, I screwed up and continued on highway 60 through Algonquin Park - thus turning a 3 hour drive into 6 hours. Finally arrived at Nancy's house around 7:00 or so. What a stunning property she has - right on the lake, complete with boats. We took her little covered boat out into the middle of the lake to go swimming - with Nancy's granddaughters (cousins) - we had a great time playing around in the water! Later, we spent some time reminiscing - looked at pictures of John, who died a year or two ago - those two were such a couple all through high school! Memories of STCI! On Friday afternoon, we drove to Burk's Falls, where Nancy's son and his wife have an RV parked permanently. I parked across the road from them for the night and then left the next day to continue making my way towards Owen Sound. [Btw, Nancy heard on the news Friday that the section of Hwy 17 I was supposed to be on was closed because of the forest fires - good thing I screwed up!]
