I spent part of today learning the Gloria - it's not totally simple . . .  However, at the practice before the service, I found out that the Gloria is actually for next Sunday! Two other churches will be sharing our church for that service (Comox Presbyterian and St. George's United from Courtenay). Since there's no choir practice this week, we'll rehearse the Gloria before the service on Sunday.  For the Christmas Eve service, Paul told us to sit with our families in the congregation and just stand at the front for the anthem, which was a very simple, three part arrangement by Jay Althouse.  We ended the service with Silent Night and candles for everyone.
